Hi, I’m Alex, the five foot nothing ginge behind Gingey Bites.

I started the blog in 2012 when I was made redundant and wanted a creative outlet. It was actually my mum’s idea (so I can’t take the credit) and it’s probably the best thing she’s ever told me to do. ELEVEN YEARS ON and Gingey Bites has a life of its own. This thing has grown from a small blogger page about cooking in my kitchen to a full blown food and travel blog, covering everything from easy recipes with leftovers to hotel reviews and the best places to eat in everywhere from Bristol to Melbourne, Australia. Along the way, I’ve moved from the Midlands to Bristol, bought a house, got two cats, chickens and had a baby with my partner. So, it’s been busy but one thing has always been a constant – this blog!

By day I’m the Head of Sales and Marketing at a Sustainability Consultancy. When I’m not doing that, I’m spending time feeding my (luckily) food loving toddler and planning our next family adventure.

Oh, and if you fancy listening to me rather than reading what I’ve written, you’ll find over 70 episodes of my food podcast ‘At the Sauce‘ on spotify and itunes. It’s on a prolonged hiatus until I have more time but if you’re new to it, there are four years worth of episodes to get you started!

Ok, enough for now… it’s dinner time!
