When we were there we picked up some spice rub kits – a new ‘Smokehouse Barbeque‘ range from Bart. We used the New York and Mediterranean rubs for our BBQ and they were really good! Cue an impromptu review!

The Bart spice kits are really easy to use. The spice rub (enough for 4) comes with a little bag and you basically mix your chosen meat or fish with the seasoning and leave to marinate for as long as you want – I went for around 4 hours, using chicken and steak.

For the New York Steak Rub, I went for two big farmer fear rump steaks and cut them in half. This was more than enough for 4 people and actually, we even had enough for my brother (he miraculously turned up as the food was ready). The seasoning smelt delicious, full of peppercorns and spice and you could really taste it on the meat. A big thumbs up.

oooh, I am so hungry now, love the steak… my favourite thing is large prawns wrapped in bacon on a skewer… love them!
Oh yes… prawns wrapped in bacon are DIVINE!
looks yummy! fresh and healthy
