Ok, so it’s been two, maybe three years since I did a festive gift guide. Why? Not sure, just couldn’t be bothered most likely. Great news – this year I can be bothered! And I’ve found some wicked stuff (aka… I want all of this). 🎄 So, without further ado.. let’s get going:
On the go
Most of us now carry keep cups around when we’re out and about but how many of you have a cutlery set? I love this one priced at £18 from zero waste ethical living shop Worthwhyle. It rolls up to fit perfectly into your bag and is perfect for eating on the go.
Keeping with the ‘on the go’ theme, I really like this espresso coffee maker priced at £28.99 on Amazon. Firstly, it’s a cool gadget which let’s face it, always makes a good gift. And secondly, because it’s perfect for someone who camps, hikes or travels a lot.
In the kitchen
I’m obsessed with Hannah Turner Studio. She’s from Bristol and her stuff is available at Gloucester Services and on her etsy store. I want everything!! Her animal themed egg cups would make a fun Christmas gift and if you’re feeling generous, the plates and bowls are just stunning. Retro yet modern! Seriously love them!
Yeah that’s right – a mini donut maker for under £20! HELL YEAH! Seriously, I would love one of these and I’m pretty sure you know someone who would too. This one is white and cooks 7 donuts in one go. I’d have it running for the entire christmas holidays! 🍩
Cookbooks
You know me, I love my cookbooks and I honestly think they make wonderful Christmas presents. There are three books this year which have caught my attention and between them, they’d make most food lovers more than happy on unwrapping.
Goat by James Whetlor is a fantastic read as well as being filled with recipes using goat, an underutilised yet sustainable meat source in this country. Whatsmore, 50% of the book’s profits are donated to Farm Africa. Find out more about James and his great goat agenda on this episode of my food podcast!
Honey & Co at home by Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich (from the Honey & Co restaurants around London) is full of tasty looking and seemingly simple to make Middle Eastern dishes. This is a type of food I definitely want to get into more next year. that are easy to make and a pleasure to serve. I don’t own this book but had the chance to look at it at my friend’s house recently. It’s gorgeous – with tasty recipes.
Stir Crazy by Ching-He Huang is one of my current favourites at home. I’ve already made quite a few recipes from it and am enjoying the modern take she brings to stir fries and chinese cooking. The photography is lovely too!
Experiences
I’m a big fan of cookery courses and think that they make great gifts. Having visited and LOVED the School of Wok in London, I think their gift vouchers would be perfect for the food lover in your life. It also means that they can choose their own course from the extensive list on offer – from dimsum masterclasses to an all day introduction to Vietnamese cookery.
There are plenty of food making kits available online. From cheese to sausages and everything in between. I particularly like the ones that combine food and gardening. This Plant n Grow Ginalicious kit is fun – containing grow your own botanicals for gin cocktails! Plus, you can grow stuff inside if you live in a flat and don’t own a garden. Perfect for city dwellers.

I think FOOD LOVERS are the easiest people to buy for on the Christmas gift list. Lots of great options here to choose from for sure. Happy shopping!!
I love this list. Especially the idea of doing gift vouchers for experiences. I think that is still something super personal and more memorable than an item!
Great ideas! I have to say my favorite is experiences! We received a cooking class last year and it was so much fun. Thanks for a great list!
Oh MY GOODNESS! I live in an island in the South Pacific and there are NO donuts here!!!!! I would die to have one of these mini-donut makers! And it cooks 7 donuts in one go? Amazing! What a great price as well. If anyone is listening.. Santa? I need this, LOL.
