Food Reviews Foodie Days Out

Competition! Win tickets to the BBC Good Food Show!

Its competition time! If you’ve never been (or even if you have) now’s your chance to win a pair of tickets to the BBC Good Food Show Summer which is coming up at Birmingham’s NEC on 12- 15 June!

As you may know, I’ve been part of the BBC Good Food Show Blogger Community for a couple of years now and in that time, have been lucky enough to interview MasterChef champion Natalie Coleman, Saturday Kitchen wine expert Susy Atkins and also meet with many fantastic brands from around the country. This year, the summer show has lots of new things happening – sounds as though its going to be fantastic with lots to look forward to.

The BBC Good Food Kitchen is new and it sounds great – they’ll be serving food inspired by recipes we see and love in the magazine. The Summer Kitchen stage sounds fab too – hosted by Lisa Faulkner, there’s a whole schedule of celebrity chefs cooking over the course of the show and they include Shelina Permaloo and Valentine Warner! Get in early to get a seat near the front! As always the Supertheatre will also be full to the brim with fantastic cooking demo’s from many well known faces including James Martin, John Torode and Paul Hollywood. It’s being hosted this year by Marcus Bean who I was lucky enough to meet recently at his gorgeous Brompton Cookery School (another blog post to follow).

If the above hasn’t whet your appetite, take a look at my round up on last years summer show. Its a busy jam packed day so wear comfortable shoes, bring lots of money as there are so many great producers and brands there you’ll be in foodie shopping heaven. Finally, take a look at the show’s top 10 tips for a great day here.

  1. This is first year in a long time I could go in week child-free – a dream of a day, food and plants @msedollyp

  2. Would love to win this as a treat for my husband who works hard cooking for a children's nursery and never gets time to enjoy foody treats! (I'm a terrible cook so he also has to feed me)

  3. Me and the other half love going to this, it is during his birthday so I would love to surprise him with some tickets. We love sampling all the different food and drinks

  4. I've booked a stay near Birmingham to correspond with the dates of the show because I don't live near, don't have any tickets yet so this would be brilliant! I love the show because it has such a variety of things to fuel everyone's interests. I'm particularly interested in doing some shopping, I love buying a new gadget or something new and unusual to try!

  5. I need some inspiration to get me cooking for myself. As a single person it sometimes seems hardly worth the effort so I would hope to get some good ideas from the show.

  6. I love the Good Food show at Birmingham! Last year I managed to get to both the Summer and Winter shows, which were brilliant (I'd been dreaming of attending since secondary school, quite a while ago!) – it's great to see so many unique producers and people passionate about what they do. I'd love to go again with my other half. 🙂

  7. I went last year and just loved all the food stalls with lots of things i'd never seen before and loads of free samples/goodies and Competitions .. totally fab day out

  8. I went 2 years ago and I just loved all the giveaways, competitions etc, plus trying all the samples. Great day out

  9. It has been a challenging year for us so far and we could do with a little treat to forget it all just my husband and me for the day. I am looking forward to the wine tasting and the chance to try some new foods.

  10. We have just moved house in May 2014 – I would love to go to this show and have the chance to spoil myself (and my new garden) with plants I can only buy there. Last year we were preparing to move and although I visited I was restricted in my purchases so this would make up for a lean 2013! I love to take in the RHS marquee, the show gardens (so inspiring) and to see the GW gardeners on stage. A great day!

  11. I love the good food show and particularly like the live theaters because the interaction between the chefs and the audience is brilliant. Last year I saw Monica Galetti from masterchef and she was so sweet and funny. I love looking for new gluten free products and I always end up coming away with new gadgets that I never knew I needed!

  12. the good food show gives you so many ideas, new gadgets, great fresh local foods and live cooking it is always top of my must do list, do go you will love it
