Foodie Valentines Gift Ideas

With less than a week to go until the big L-O-V-E day spectacular, I thought I’d have a little peruse and see what gifts are around for foodie lovers. Lets be honest, most of us grew out of oversized teddy bears clutching messages of I love you when were 15. Last year the hubby got me a pack of steaks and a griddle pan. Practical and appreciated but not overly romantic. Flowers and chocolates are nice but personally, I’m angling for something a bit classier this year.

Twinings have some lovely gift sets on their website at the moment. Who doesn’t like a romantic cuppa of an evening? I quite like the look of this Valentines Blushing Heart which can be personalised with a romantic  message of your choosing – the quirky bit – its chocolate but filled with a special edition and rare green tea called Jasmin Butterfly in Love (how lovely!). This is a limited run of just 500 and there is free delivery too.

If practicality is more your thing, perhaps a pair of heart shaped Le Creuset dishes would go down well. I’ve talked about these before on my Christmas foodies gift ideas  post and own a pair myself. They are so cute and perfect for individual portioned pies and puddings!
Finally, and probably a bit excessive but hey – if you’ve got the money, why not, how about an experience day from Great British Chefs? I came across these on my lunch break a few weeks back and am thinking about leaving some strategically placed clues around the house for my other half. For me, its got to be the ‘day in Marcus Wareing’s Kitchen‘ – at £3000 its not cheap but its for two and as well as experiencing a lunch service at the Berkeley, you get a 5 course dinner and a signed copy of his latest cook book. WOWZERS!

And.. if you’re not one half of a pair, sod it – treat yourself anyway! From Gingey to the world – happy valentines! xx
